Spent yesterday at the Agentic Summit in Bangalore. Here are four things that stood out:
1. Think Way More Ambitious
Met 2 young kids from PES university coding research papers and building an RL platform from scratch. The lesson: models are already good — think way more ambitious. If undergrads can tackle this, your scope might be too small.
2. Everyone is becoming a manager
A Google DeepMind engineer made a sharp point: everyone is now a manager of agents. Your job isn’t just coding anymore — it’s verification, evals, and judgment calls on agent output.
3. Observability Is the New Land Grab
Multiple talks emphasized that observability is the new competitive moat, with traces becoming the critical data asset. If you’re building agents, instrument everything.
4. Resource: Principles of Building AI Agents
Picked a nice bedtime read as well.
